Puppy Headstart

This program is exactly like it sounds and is for retriever puppies from 8 weeks to 4 months of age. During this time your puppy will live with us in a home environment and we will raise it just like it's one of our own.

This is a critical time in a dog's development as the neural pathways that will be the basis for the entirety of the dogs career begins at this stage. We work hard to broadly socialize your companion and prepare them for a seamless transition into the next stage of training. Puppies that start training at this stage will almost always progress more smoothly and faster through their adult training when the time comes.

Puppy Headstart Includes:

Potty Training
Crate Training
Intro to birds/guns
Non-Forced Fetch
Marked puppy retrieves
Intro to water (weather dependent)

Program lengths and terms are flexible.

Basic Gundog Training

The Basic Gundog Program provides your retriever with the basics necessary to complete an AKC Junior or HRC Started hunt test which equates to the skills necessary for their first season in the field.

These skills are foundational for all other programs and training.

Basic Obedience (Here/Heel/Sit)
Walking on/off Lead
Force Fetch
E-Collar Conditioning
Simple Land and Water Single Retrieves
Intro to Guns and ducks (Flyers and Dead)

Every dog will progress at its own pace. We require a 3 month minimum commitment for this program and 4 months is not uncommon.

Intermediate/Advanced Retriever Training

Intermediate and advanced training builds upon the skills learned in our basic training course. This training will ready your dog for Senior/Seasoned and Master/Finished level hunt tests. This stage's timeline is widely variable based upon the dogs abilities and not every dog is capable of achieving this level of training,

Multiple Marked Retrieves

Diversion Birds

Training Grounds:

We are incredibly fortunate to have access to a number of varied private and public training grounds stretching from Salem, OR to Chehalis, Washington. We also use our home location for most of the yard work and drills that we perform prior to being ready for the field. We teach the skills necessary in less distracting environments, then work to generalize those concepts to a number of locations so that your dog will perform as expected wherever they may find themselves in the future.

Rates & Fees:

Board & Train

Our monthly rate for all board & train services is $1000/Month not including sales tax, birds, baths, necessary veterinary care or other incidentals. Board & Train programs are billed monthly with no partial months.

Board & Train includes Premium dog food, and monthly flea and tick prevention. We do not include heartworm medication as it is prescription only, but we can absolutely give it for no additional fee if owner provided.

Other medications may incur a small fee for administration dependent on route and frequency.

Boarding Only

Boarding Fees are $40/Day not including sales tax or incidentals.

Owner must provide all food/medications for stays less than one month.

Hunt Test Handling Fees

Handing Fees are $50/Day for tests in the local area. Tests that necesitate travel are case dependent based on distance, and number of other dogs we have running in those particular tests.
